It’s a dog’s life

Being made redundant after 9 years in the City was quite a shock for Chris Rowell, 28 years old. With a young family to support and rumours of a recession around the corner, he knew he couldn’t rest on his redundancy payment.

After much consideration with his partner, Emma Gooding aged 26, they decided to start their own business and have just opened a luxury dog grooming service at Duck End 5 Star Kennels. The salon has state of the art equipment and is situated in pleasant countryside with plenty of dog friendly walks.

As Emma and Chris are looking to secure their success through good planning and long term relationships with their clients, they sought advice right from the very beginning from Business Development Services of Braintree.

Emma has several years experience in the dog grooming business and has brought the best parts of her experience to Four Paws Dog Salon She says “Grooming can sometimes be stressful for some dogs, owners and grooming staff; so we have set up the salon to eliminate or significantly reduce stress factors. For instance we have baths and grooming tables set on hydraulic devices so that they can be raised and lowered to reduce the need for lifting. We also have a secure walking area outside so we can provide our clients with a top quality grooming service in excellent surroundings”.

Dog owners wishing to visit Emma and Chris will be welcomed with some great opening offers!
