David Brown
Following a successful career in the advertising/marketing industry David became interested in helping others to become self employed. David trained in several London studios before becoming a self employed photographer, eventually he finished up running ‘Browns’ his own design and marketing consultancy with over 20 employees based in Covent Garden, London with such clients as Lancôme, Mars, Thomas Cook, Halifax Building Society etc. After retiring early, he was offered a freelance post as an adviser with Essex County Council at their Young Enterprise Centres. He became member of the Institute of Business Advisors in 1991.
In 1993 David joined Enterprise Tendring as their senior business advisor. While with Enterprise Tendring David became SFEDI accredited and also during this time he was chosen to receive the Shell Enterprise Award in recognition of outstanding service to youth enterprise.
David joined Business Development Services (NWE) Limited in 2002, as one of their team of advisors, with a particular interest in helping start ups and micro businesses, where his marketing experience has proved invaluable. His ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of companies and their managers makes him well suited to his work within BDS.
